Welcome to The Wheatsheaf Inn, West Boldon, an iconic pub in West Boldon Village, which secured its first license in 1824 to operate as a public house and coaching inn. Traditional homecooked food is available in our Grain and Vine restaurant upstairs.

As part of West Boldon Village, we're devoted to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that connects the local community to the rest of South Tyneside, Sunderland and beyond.​

Our goal is for everyone to have fun, relax, and enjoy themselves. Whether you're here for a casual drink or a meal you'll find a friendly and welcoming space.

We're be a bar and restaurant rather than just a typical boozer, and our service reflects that.

Our friendly village pub has different spaces for different preferences to maximise your level of comfort when you visit.
We've our snug bar area which is open plan yet cosy, caters for collaboration, get togethers and socialisation, creating a positive, fun, yet arelaxed atmosphere.
Our ground floor lounge bar area is simply the best, allowing our customers to relax, zone out and decompress in a space which is designed to create an unwinding and reflective environment. This space also serves as an extension to our tradional food restaurant and allows more accessibility for our customers.
Our smart-casual only dress code is also a factor in creating our welcoming and inviting environment, we do not allow tracksuits, sports wear or heavily soiled work wear in either bar or restaurant area's for consistency.
Oh, and one more thing too, we purposefully scour the market and work with customers to source the most popular ales on the local and UK market to ensure we've always got the favourite tipple in the UK.
